Workshop on Outcome-Based Education

MCC Boyd Tandon School of Business conducted a faculty development workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), designed to strengthen academic planning processes and reinforce quality assurance practices within the institution. Dr. M. Wilson Kumar of Karunya University served as the resource person, who provided in-depth insights into the core principles, relevance, and practical implementation of Outcome-Based Education in B-Schools.

The workshop highlighted the importance of aligning curriculum objectives with well-defined learning outcomes to improve teaching effectiveness and enhance student achievement. A major focus of the programme was the mapping of Course Outcomes (COs) with Programme Outcomes (POs), emphasizing its vital role in ensuring coherence among curriculum design, teaching–learning processes, and assessment practices. The session provided faculty members with valuable insights into outcome-based education, effective academic planning, and the continuous improvement of programme quality through systematic outcome alignment.
